More About This Painting

In the Strange City, next to the fountain of justice, is the Courtroom. It will seem strange to you, but all the inhabitants of the Strange City pass through there. When some inhabitant reaches towards the end of his life, he is obliged to pass before the three judges. They are:
First — The I Do Not Speak, also known as Silence, who is considered the most patient and the most mysterious of the three judges, since she never, ever loses her composure in whatever she may hear or see inside the courtroom.
Second — The I Do Not Hear, cheerful and a little funny you could call him, a little in his own world, but whatever he sees and when he speaks, he always falls exactly right. The other two always consult him, because he does not pay attention to many words and it is difficult to convince him.
Third — but the most renowned — The I Do Not See, who is too handsome for a judge and does not see you… Do you get it? Snobbish, strict, and the eldest in age, but he respects the other two, mainly because he does not see and he needs them.

In the Strange City, then, at the end of life you pass before the Judges to be judged. You must choose if they will put a chip in you, so that you may pass quietly and smoothly into the next life; or if you refuse, the Judges will judge if they will take away your speech, your hearing, or your sight. And if you also have a file with ideas against social control, they may take all three. A difficult decision both for the ones and for the others… Who knows, after all, what happens in the next life?! In that New World?! Is it full of deaf, mute, and blind? Everything controlled and calm and in order? After all, that chip promises conveniences in that new Paradise! The others will wander without destination… so they say! To tell you the truth, I will probably be mute and blind and speechless in that New World, but I do not care because I will be free.
