Strange City: Memory, Identity, and the Architecture of the Inner World

Many of my paintings evolve as part of thematic series, allowing ideas to unfold over time. One such body of work is Strange City — a surreal inner landscape shaped by memory, identity, and the invisible structures that define our emotional world.

Rather than depicting a physical place, Strange City reflects an internal geography. Layers of color and fragmented forms suggest pathways, boundaries, and hidden spaces — echoes of personal and collective experience. The paintings shift between chaos and order, mirroring the way memories surface and dissolve.

This series explores how we construct meaning from fragments, how identity is shaped by both what we remember and what remains unspoken. Abstraction becomes a tool for navigating these themes, offering space for ambiguity and introspection.

Strange City is not meant to be decoded, but experienced. Each viewer brings their own history into the work, completing the dialogue between canvas and consciousness.
